Welcome to Elderfield, is a cozy horror RPG farming and life sim. Manage your farm, befriend or romance the locals, investigate mysteries, decorate your home, fight terrifying creatures, fish, cook, seek the Old Gods and hope you don’t die in your sleep.
Even while trying to stop the horrors from rising, life must still go on. And what better way than to enjoy your misery together with the other townsfolk in the village. Play your cards right, and you’ll be able to even romance and marry one. Just like most other life sims, make sure to talk to your intended every day and give them gifts that they like, and avoid giving them something that they won’t.
In this Welcome to Elderfield guide, we’ll go through all the gift preferences of your romantic candidates and more.
How To Increase Romance
The main way to increase your relationship with someone is by giving them gifts. To begin just talk to them and select any gift you want from your inventory. You can only give each villager one gift per day and two gifts per week. But the type of gift that you choose to give them matters.
Each character has preference for certain items. If they love the item you give them that’ll net you +8 Relationship Points, if they like the item you’ll get +6 RP, neutral gifts are +4 RP and lastly if they hate your gift it’ll actually reduce your relationship with them. If someone hates the gift you give them you’ll get -8 Relationship Points.
Note that a Love Potion will give +12 friendship to any of the nine villagers and it will count towards the normal daily and weekly gift limit. When your relationship gets high enough with a villager you can gift them a Ring of Binding to propose marraige.
