Chef RPG: The Complete Festival Guide

Chef RPG, World 2 Studio, Restaurant Management, Life Sim, Stardew Valley, Early Access, Food and Festival, Gingerbread Bake Off

In Chef RPG, you are a young chef entrusted with reviving the legendary Le Sequoia restaurant in the beautiful, fading seaside town of White Ash Harbor. Throughout the year, the town transforms for seasonal festivals, from the annual Pumpkin Hunt to the popular Gingerbread Bake-Off. Keep an eye on your calendar and mailbox for festival flyers, and enjoy a charming cutscene as the town sets up the day before.

Each festival contains a unique activity and rewards, and to participate, all you need to do is head on over to the festival grounds and sign up! Your performance at the festivals will earn you valuable Festival Tokens, which you can exchange for unique seasonal prizes. Best of all, your tokens carry over between events, so you can save up for that must-have prize from any festival’s shop.

In this guide, we’ll go through all the festivals in Chef RPG, where they’re held, what you’ll need to prepare and what unique items are available during the event.

Note: Chef RPG launched in September 2024 in Early Access. As such information in this article is subject to change with game updates.

Farmer’s Wager

Farmer’s Wager is a variation of the classic card game poker. Learn how to play by speaking to Anna-May or Mae-Lou.

In Farmer’s Wager, the goal is to win chips from other players. You will have 1000 chips at the beginning of the festival to play with. Win chips by having a higher-scoring set of vegetables than your opponent each round, over 4 rounds.

How To Play

At the beginning of the game, 16 vegetable cups are shuffled on the table. Each has a point value:

  • Potato: 2 points
  • Mushroom: 3 points
  • Daikon: 4 points
  • Pumpkin: 5 points

You and the person you’re playing with each start with 2 hidden vegetables. A starting bet of 5 chips is automatically placed between the two of you. On your turn, you have three main choices:

  1. Match: Pay chips to meet your opponent’s last bet and stay in the round.
  2. Raise: Increase the bet. The opponent must then match you or forfeit.
  3. Forfeit: Fold your hand. You lose the round and any chips you’ve bet so far, but don’t risk more.

You can also bluff—keep betting aggressively to scare your opponent into forfeiting, even if your vegetables are weak.

Date: 6 & 7 Summer

Time:
Activities:

Beach Solstice – 22 Summer

Date: 22 Summer
Location: Eastern Beach
Time: Before 6 PM
Activities: Lantern Lighting (bring a Scythe, Spade and Fishing Rod)

Bea and Aime host the Beach Solstice to celebrate their love for the beach with everyone. It’s the hottest day of the year! Lantern Lighting

Work with a partner to make as many lanterns as you can in the time limit. The more lanterns you make, the higher your score.  Each lantern has several parts to be crafted, so you and your partner will have to either gather or fish for resources, then put them together. You’ll need to balance your time between quick gathering and careful crafting to win.

Step 1: Choose a Teammate
Pick any NPC. Each have their own speed and efficiency stats, so choose based on who you think will work best together. Friendship level doesn’t matter here.

Step 2: Gather Materials
Lanterns require a minimum of 3x items to be crafted: Driftwood, Fuel Stones and Paper. And there are an optional 2x items that you can add on to increase your score: Scallop Shells and Fish Scales.

You’ll need these tools to collect everything:

  • Scythe: For driftwood (required).
  • Spade: For scallop shells (optional, for extra points).
  • Fishing Rod: For fish scales (optional, for extra points).

Unlimited paper and fuel stones are already provided at the sand mounds (your crafting stations).

Step 3: Work Together
Assign your partner to focus on collecting just one type of material (driftwood, shells, or scales). You handle the other two. You can change their assigned material anytime at a sand mound.

Step 4: Craft a Lantern

  1. Go to a sand mound and select the parts you want to use.
  2. A simple stacking game begins. An item appears at the top of the screen.
  3. Move your mouse left/right to align it, then click to drop it onto the mound.
  4. The more accurate your placement, the more points you get for that item.

Step 5: Repeat & Release
Keep gathering and crafting until time runs out. You’ll then need to light the lantern. Once it is released, it will add to your total score.

Date: 26 Autumn
Location:
Time:
Activities: Lamp Lighting

An age-old tradition in White Ash Harbor. Work together with the townsfolk to guide the spirits towards sources of food. Head to the hills north of the town square on the 26th day of Autumn to join this spooky event.

A short side quest is available only during this event. (Note* The Tea of Life quest in Act 2 must have been started for this festival to appear).

Lamp Lighting

Learn how to play by speaking to April. Your goal in this event is to light up as many lamps as you can in 10 minutes to earn festival tokens.

How To Play

  1. Get Oil: Use your scythe to harvest Ash Tubers (found in the festival area and around town).
  2. Make Oil: Take the tubers to one of the three oil distillers at the festival to process them into Ash Tuber Oil.
  3. Create Ectoplasm: Collect the finished oil. Then, click the spirit flame to turn your oil into a Bucket of Ectoplasm.
  4. Light the Lamps: Carry the ectoplasm around the festival trails and use it to light the lamps.
