Fields of Mistria 1.0: Everything That’s Coming To The Full Game

Fields-of-Mistria, NPC-Studio-1.0- Farming, Life Sim, August 2026, New Characters, Baroness Linnet

Mark your calendars, cozy gamers! Fields of Mistria is officially leaving Early Access and launching its full 1.0 version on August 5, 2026. The announcement came during the Wholesome Direct showcase at Summer Game Fest, and developer NPC Studio has revealed an extensive roadmap of features arriving with the complete game.

For those who’ve been tending their farms since the game first entered Early Access on August 5, 2024, this marks nearly two years of development—and the 1.0 update is shaping up to be a substantial payoff. Currently sitting at an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam with over 20,000 reviews, Fields of Mistria has already captured the hearts of farming sim fans. Now, it’s about to become the complete package.

Here’s everything coming to the idyllic village of Mistria when the full version launches.

Marriage, Children, and Romance (Finally!)

The headline feature everyone’s been waiting for: you can finally get married and start a family. The 1.0 update raises NPC Heart caps to 10 Hearts, and at that max level, you’ll be able to propose and trigger wedding events for romanceable NPCs. After the ceremony, you can have children, complete with adorable spouse-specific details like special sprites for your partner holding the baby. Don’t worry for those of you who don’t want to have children with your spouse you can opt out for this feature.

The romance system also gets some lovely polish with wedding outfit portraits for your chosen partner—those little touches that make the relationship feel truly special. One of the most frequently asked questions for the Fields of Mistria marriage update is what happens to your other romantic partners. After you get married, they will default to ‘Best Friend’ status. Isn’t that respectful?

A Complete Storyline

Early Access players have been rebuilding the town after a devastating earthquake, but the full story has remained tantalisingly out of reach. Version 1.0 makes the Town Repair Storyline completable, wrapping up the main narrative quest that drives the game’s progression. Additional Town Repair questline events will flesh out the journey, and the Renown Level cap is being raised to 100, giving you plenty of goals to work toward .

Four New Faces Are Coming To Mistria

Four new characters are being introduced to the Fields of Mistria 1.0 update. None that are romanceable (unfortunately). These new NPCs are Stillwell and Zorel, who will be joining the Saturday Market. Find them next to the Blacksmith Station. We don’t know exactly what services they’ll be providing or what they’ll be selling, but we do know that Stillwell is a Fortune Teller and Zorel will be a Music Vendor.

The next two characters are expected to be coming to Mistria are Adeline and Eiland’s parents. The earthquake forced the Baron and Baroness to return to the capital, but once everything is fixed, they’ll be coming back. Their names are Baron Wiscar and Baroness Linnet.

This expanding cast of characters will give you new interactions, new shops, items, and potentially quests in your life.

Dungeons, Rewards, and Adventure

The Mines and Dungeons are getting love too, with additional dungeon quests and rewards coming in the 1.0 update. If you’ve been craving more combat and exploration content alongside your farming, this should provide fresh challenges and loot to pursue.

More to Discover

The update is packed with quality-of-life additions and content expansions:

  • Additional Museum sets and rewards to complete
  • New requests added to the Request Board
  • Extra Skill Perks to customise your playstyle
  • More furniture, decor, cosmetics, and mount skins for personalisation

Achievements and Localisation

Steam Achievements are being implemented, giving completionists plenty of goals to chase. And for international players, the first wave of localisation languages arrives in beta versions: Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), French, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Spanish.

Save Compatibility and Console Ports

Good news for existing players: your Early Access saves will be compatible with the 1.0 update, and achievements you’ve earned will carry over automatically. As for console ports, NPC Studio has confirmed they’re “currently focused on bringing the game to its 1.0 release on PC, and will evaluate potential ports at a future time”. So while Switch or PS5 versions aren’t confirmed yet, they haven’t been ruled out either.

Fields of Mistria

Fields of Mistria is a spiritual successor to the farm-sim RPGs of the late ’90s and beyond, blending classic Harvest Moon-style farming with Rune Factory’s combat and magic elements. The pixel art aesthetic is charmingly retro, and the game’s magical setting sets it apart from more grounded farming sims.

What’s really earned it that “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating, though, is the writing and character work. Every resident of Mistria is thoughtfully crafted, with seasonal outfits and dialogue that makes the town feel alive. As one player put it, the hardest part of the game might just be deciding who to marry—because everyone is so charming.

1.0 is launching with a host of new updates, but there is still more planned on the horizon for the game.

The Fields of Mistria 1.0 update launches August 5, 2026 for PC and the Steam Deck.
