Lavender Station: Run A Dreamy Small-Town Train Platform

Summer sometimes means beaches and mountainside camping, but if you’re spending Summer in the South of France, it means one thing – Lavender. The fields of Provence come alive with the gorgeous purple hue of Lavender fields, and blooms delicately scent the air. It’s a beautiful time of year, and the upcoming cozy management game Lavender Station lets you bask in it.

Lavender Station invites you to manage a provincial train station amongst the lavender fields. The station has seen better days, and the tiny wooden platform has been weathered from disuse. Bring this sleepy station back to life and welcome travellers amongst the rolling hills of purple that stretch out in every direction. Place a bench that overlooks the hills and a cooling refreshment machine next to the apricot tree, which will delight your guests. Listen to the townspeople’s needs, wants and small town gossip as they wait for their next destination. It’s a small and transitional space, but one that feels warm and cared for.

Developed by Denise from Ninoko, a small indie studio based in Zurich, Lavender Station is expected to come out sometime next year in Q1 2027 for PC. But there’s a demo to play now on Steam from the 20th to the 27th of July 2026.

A Casual Management Sim

There’s been an influx of smaller cozier management games in recent years, ones where there are no fail states, no frantic timers and a lot of the focus has been on enjoying the environment of the game. Games like Minami Lane or Tiny Bookshop bring you into a world where you manage one small street or a simple bookshop. There aren’t a lot of complex management systems; there’s no pressure to min-max a day, and you’re really able to enjoy and delight in the place that you’re in.

Lavender Station is one such game; it bottles up that dreamy, golden-hour feeling when the air is clear and crisp and smells of flowers. You begin the game cleaning up the station and slowly adding to your provincial platform. Set up small comforts for your passengers, such as benches, drink and snack machines and other such comforts. Then, of course, decorate the place with the beautiful scent of fresh lavender bushes or apricot trees.

Each day moves by slowly. Enjoy talking to the travellers as they stop by your station. Upkeep your amenities to make sure everything is in working order, and slowly expand and grow your platform. As the station improves, larger trains begin to stop, and new visitors arrive. What starts as a neglected platform at the edge of an almost abandoned village slowly becomes a welcoming stop that reconnects the community with the outside world.
