We’re only halfway through the year, but Pokémon Pokopia is already the number one culprit of all my free time in 2026. Nintendo isn’t letting up its grip, though, because in yesterday’s Nintendo Direct 2026, they announced that Pokopia will get a new paid DLC and a free Version 2.0 update coming in August 2026.
In the Expansion Pass DLC, we’ll be getting a brand new underwater area and, with it, a whole new town to explore, new crafting recipes and the new Dive Transformation that will let you explore a whole new world. If you’re both excited and scared like I am, then stick around to find out everything that we’ll be doing in August.
Dive Into The Free v2.0 Update

For those of you not ready to get in on Pokémon Pokopia‘s DLC pass, don’t worry because you won’t be missing out on the key Dive Transformation. This will be coming free to all Pokopia game owners and will allow you access to a whole new underwater world.
Dive appears to be an upgrade to your Water Gun ability, allowing you to create an air bubble helmet so you can dive underwater and explore the watery depths off the shores of Bleak Beach and the Withered Wasteland. Allowing you to stay underwater indefinitely, so you can explore and build all kinds of underwater habitats on the seafloor.

Note that to unlock this ability, you’ll need to have completed the Raise the Environment Level! Important Request in Bleak Beach, and have both the Jump Ability and Surf Transformations unlocked. If you haven’t done this yet, you still have 2 more months to get it done!
What’s In The Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass DLC
The Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass is available for purchase now for $34.99 USD. However, you won’t be able to play it until August 2026. If you do not already own Pokopia, you can also purchase the Pokémon Pokopia Bundle for $104.99 USD.
The Expansion Pass will include three key updates spanning from August 2026 to September 2027.

The first expansion we’ll be getting is called Bubbly Basin, which comes out in August 2026. The basin will give us access to a whole underwater area complete with ocean-themed Pokémon, furniture and outfits! We don’t know exactly what Pokémon we’ll get to see, but according to the Nintendo Direct yesterday, we’ll definitely be meeting Popplio, Mudkip and Corphish.

If you pre-purchase the Pokopia Expansion Pass, you can claim some neat rewards. Including the:
- Dynamic Ditto print block
- Dynamic Ditto print wallpaper
- 30 Rare Pokemetal Ingots
The Dynamic Ditto print crafting recipes and Pokemetal Ingots can be claimed immediately after purchase, so you won’t need to wait until August to get them.
Once you “receive” both Dynamic Ditto print recipes, you can find them available to craft at any workbench. Look for them in the Blocks and Other tabs of the workbench. The Dynamic Ditto print block requires 2 Twine to craft. The Dynamic Ditto print wallpaper requires 6 Paper to craft.
Part 2 and 3 Of The Expansion DLC

Not much information has been revealed yet for the upcoming content of the DLC. But we do know that Part 2 will be available in late 2026 and will introduce more new features and crafting recipes. And Part 3 is coming in September 2027; in it, players will get to explore another new town and enjoy other exciting features. If we get and underwater terrain this time, do we maybe get a cloud city or jungle expansion in the next one?
