Farming Camp: A Summertime Farming Sim With A Competitive Twist

There’s something about farming games that just hits different in the summer, right? The sun’s out, you’ve got lemonade on the table, and suddenly the idea of tending pixelated crops sounds like the most relaxing way to spend an evening. Farming Camp from Innerfire Studios is leaning into that vibe hard—but with a twist that’s got me genuinely curious.

Instead of the regular formula of escaping to a quiet country life, you’re heading to Evertree Farming Camp, where the goal isn’t just to grow vegetables—it’s to win. Every summer, the camp searches for the next best Evertree Farmer, and you step into the boots of Alessandra, an ambitious teenager competing for the title. It’s like Stardew Valley meets a coming-of-age summer movie, and honestly? I’m here for it.

The game arrives September 24, 2026, on PC, and there’s a demo to play now on Steam until August 2nd 2026.

A Farm, Two Buddies, and a Whole Lot of Drama

Here’s the thing about Farming Camp—you’re not doing this solo. You’ve got two fellow young farmers on your team, each with their own personality and “vibe,” as the official description puts it. And you’re going to need to figure out how to work together.

Use the tools at your disposal and climb your way to the top as the camp’s best farming team. Coordinate with your companions and earn points by completing chores, maintaining the camp, attending classes, and tackling missions.

The gameplay loop revolves around earning points and managing a whole lot of chores:

  • Chores (growing crops, caring for animals, fishing)
  • Camp maintenance (keeping the place from falling apart)
  • Classes (yes, you have to learn stuff)
  • Missions (because what’s a camp without objectives?)

Assign chores to your teammates, solve problems, and build friendships along the way. I’m particularly interested in how the relationship mechanics work—the press materials mention “dealing with the dynamics of a colourful cast in their teenage years,” which sounds like it could get delightfully messy.

The Mini-Games: Pest Smashing and Wood Chopping Galore

Nobody wants a farming game that feels like actual work, and Farming Camp seems to understand that. In the game, farming is only half the fun, and the other half packs in quick mini-games that break up the routine :

  • Racing against the clock to eliminate pests
  • Chopping wood (with satisfying sound effects, I hope)
  • Cooking delicious meals
  • And more that aren’t fully revealed yet

These mini-games aren’t just filler—they’re woven into the competition aspect, helping you earn those precious points to climb the camp rankings. The demo will feature 6 minigames that you’ll be able to play before the game is fully released.

Hand-Drawn Charm

Visually, Farming Camp serves us a hand-drawn 2D top-down world, which immediately gives it a storybook feel. Think cozy pixel art but with a more illustrative quality—the kind of game where you stop to admire the little details in the scenery. If you enjoy the look of Everholm or Eastward, then you’re going to enjoy the look of this game.

Farming Camp

Farming Camp is a cozy, single-player farm management game that follows the journey of an ambitious teenager competing to become the best farmer in the camp. Manage your farm alongside your companions, complete chores for points, and deal with the dynamics of a colorful cast in their teenage years.

Farming Camp is a delightful shakeup to the farming sim genre, and I’m excited for the summer camp vibes that it’s bringing. Not just for the minigame breakup, but the relationships and characters with their own teenage drama is bound to keep things interesting.
