A World Reborn
The land of Dragon Shelter was once a place of vibrant life and teeming biodiversity. However, a dark blight has crept into the world, corrupting the land and driving dragons and humans apart. Now, it’s up to you to restore the land to its former glory and reunite these two ancient races.
Explore lush forests, towering mountains, and sparkling rivers, each filled with hidden secrets and challenges. You’ll need to revitalise these biomes by eliminating corruption to bring them back to life. Examine the characteristics of each new biome and leverage them to your benefit. Watch as the darkness retreats and feel how, through your hard work, the world regains its former beauty.
In the now-darkened city, the townsfolk are gloomy and grumpy, having lost faith in joy and friendship. Deep down, though, they yearn for happiness. With your assistance, they’ll start to change, showing a completely different side of themselves. Together with the dragons, help the townsfolk rekindle warm memories and revive their zest for life as you discover each resident’s touching stories.
A Tale of Friendship and Restoration
At the heart of Dragon Shelter are the majestic dragons, creatures of magic and cuteness. Each one comes with unique traits and special powers that actively assist you around the farm and beyond. Discover and befriend them by caring, nurturing and bonding with these magnificent beasts. Treat them well, and they’ll become loyal companions who sense what people need and lend their magic accordingly.
The demo gives you a taste of the Water Dragon companion, who has water-based terraforming abilities that let you reshape your farm layout. Think of them less as mythical beasts and more as very enthusiastic, fire-breathing farmhands who really want to help.
Each dragon has their own special traits. If you take good care of them, these amazing creatures will become your loyal friends and helpful buddies on the farm. Your dragon helpers will aid you in transforming your grandfather’s old farm into a haven of safety and support. Turn this abandoned place into an oasis where joy and friendship flourish. Cultivate crops, harvest resources, produce valuable goods, and help the town and nature recover. Watch as the land is revitalised and the world brightens up thanks to your nurturing care.
Dragon Assisted Farming
Dragon Shelter borrows from the good old cozy gaming trope of inheriting your grandfather’s abandoned farm. But instead of just fixing fences and planting parsnips, you’re revitalising the land with dragon-assisted agriculture. You’ll grow crops, gather resources, and craft valuable goods while your dragon helpers support every step.
Not every plant grows the same way in Dragon Shelter. Some of the magical crops need special care, like a cozy canopy for shade-loving Whispering Moss or a warm plant lantern to shelter Wise Mushrooms from the rain. Building the right setup for each crop makes your farm feel truly your own.
The land transformation is part of the loop too. Venture into new magical biomes, eliminate corruption, and bring them back to life—each biome has unique characteristics you can leverage to your benefit. It’s Stardew Valley with a fantasy makeover and a dash of How To Train Your Dragon thrown in.
Cooking With a Side of Dragon Magic
Cooking isn’t just about filling a hunger bar in Dragon Shelter—it’s the heart of the crafting system. Meals strengthen bonds with neighbours, lift spirits, and unlock new opportunities. Every harvest can be used in cooking, crafting, alchemy, or trade – making each recipe meaningful and rewarding.
Recipes come with multiple preparation steps: slicing, grinding, kneading, and more. Recipes like Moon Onigiri, Garlic Croutons, and Vegetable Stew walk you through multiple preparation stages: grinding, cutting, mixing. Master the flow of the kitchen and create meals that warm both bellies and hearts. Every dish is a little cooking adventure, and your dragon helpers are right there with you, turning up the heat and keeping things flowing.
You’re not just cooking for yourself, either. Those meals are the key to winning over the townsfolk, who have collectively fallen into a bit of a funk.
A Town That Needs a Little TLC
The nearby town isn’t doing great. The townsfolk are gloomy, grumpy, and have lost their spark—but deep down, they’re yearning for happiness. With your dragons by your side, you’ll reconnect with them, uncover their stories, and help them rediscover joy.
As your friendships with the townsfolk grow, the town itself begins to wake up. Villagers go about their days, tend to their work, and stop to pet a passing dragon. The more time you spend helping your neighbours, the more they open up to you. Growing trust unlocks new sides of each character: their dreams, memories, and stories you couldn’t hear before. Every healed heart brings a little more life and warmth to the streets.
