Moonlight Peaks: The Complete Critter Catching Guide
Moonlight Peaks is a cozy supernatural farming and life sim, and like most life sims, you’ll be able to fish, farm, make friends and of course catch some critters. Wielding your trusty net, scoop up the local wildlife to fill out your collection, earn extra Coins, or even give it away as gifts.
In this guide, we’ll go through everything you need to know about critter catching, including where and how to get the Net, some tips on catching critters and what season and location you’ll be able to catch every critter.
You won’t automatically have access to the Net when you first start your life in Moonlight Peaks. To get it, simply progress the main story until you meet Death. This should happen around Day 10 -15.
Continue the main storyline until you help return Brook’s missing Crest.
Wait for Fiona to clear the path to the Misty Shores area.
You’ll be able to attend a dinner party at the Ambrosia mansion in Misty Shores. When you head there, you will be pulled into a cutscene where you meet Death for the first time. Return to Misty Shores the following day, and Death will teach you about Soul Blobs (floating skulls) and give you a Net to catch them.
While Death gives you the Net to catch Soul Blobs, you’ll be able to use it to catch critters as well.
How to Catch Critters (The Basics)
Once you have your Net, catching critters is straightforward, especially if you have played games like Animal Crossing.
Select the Net from your tool wheel.
Approach the critter (bug, butterfly, or Soul Blob) until you are close enough.
Press the action button to swing your net.
If you are successful, a brief animation will play showing your character holding up the creature and displaying its name. The critter will then be added to your inventory.
