Sun Haven is a fantasy farming RPG that has a whole lot to do. But one of the things you’re probably going to be spending a lot of time with is the romance system. There are many characters for you to date and eventually marry and have kids if you want to. Relationships start off like most IRL, you start as friends and then after a few dates, and some deep conversation, you can start dating! It’s best to have an idea of what you’re getting into to optimise the best gifts to give them. Gold doesn’t grow on trees!

Relationship Stages In Sun Haven
There are five relationship stages that you can achieve with your romance candidates that begin with friendship and that can eventually end in marriage. In order to progress that way you’ll need to engage your intended beloved in conversation and gifting. Do this every day and watch that relationship build.
Dating
Once the player has progressed through the friendship stage enough your intended will ask if you would like to go on a date. If you accept you’ll unlock a special mission that you can follow through with.
The date itself is a sequence of dialogue similar to the dialogue checks prompted by interacting with romance candidates. You’ll be able to go on two unique dates with either bachelor or bachelorette you decide. And after the second date, they will ask you to go start dating officially. This will unlock new dialogue cycles.
Note: There is currently no limit to the number of characters the player can date at once.
Marriage
Once you’ve reached 15 hearts with a romance candidate, you’ll unlock the option to propose to them. If you’d like to take your relationship to the next stage, head over to Town Hall and buy the Engagement Ring. If they accept your proposal your wedding will happen the following day at 4 pm.
Make this decision wisely because you won’t be able to marry anyone else after this!
The next day you’ll attend the ceremony where you’ll have one last option to back out of the marriage by selecting “I do not”. If however, you select “I do” then you and your partner will be married and exchange wedding rings.
This unlocks the Enchanted Wedding Ring: +30 HP, +30MP, +20%EXP

Kai

Kai is a free spirited Naga, coming from a world forgotten to the past. After washing up on the beach of Sun Haven without his memory, he decides to call the little town his home. He is very friendly and positive. Although he speaks formally, he’s playful and excited about Sun Haven.
Kai will appear on the beach, just east of Peter’s Fishing Store, during Summer Year 1, or later. The player must wake them up.

Karish is a shark Amari with big muscles and a bigger heart. His singular goal is to become a great hero that everyone can rely on, and he works tirelessly to achieve it through vigorous training and pure willpower. While he initially wants the player to stand back and let him handle everything, he quickly acknowledges them as a fellow hero and learns to lean on them for their help in The Deeps.

Silly and casual, Lucius loves talking about the moon. He is separated from the rest of the village in the Temple of the Moon which leads to being insecure about his role as an attendant to the Moon. While talking to the player, Lucius begins to open up about his experience in this role and gains more confidence.

Wesley
Note: Wesley is a new romanceable NPC that came with the v1.2 patch in June 2023.
Wesley is Elder Gorwin’s assistant and Nel’Vari’s historian. A man of history, he works hard to preserve the past. He is a very literal man who is deeply focused on his work. Wishing to preserve the traditions of Nel’Vari, he often comes off as abrasive which is a mask for his intense passions. While he may not be a fan of outsiders, commonality could bring something more to the table.
